Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and processes to ensure products and services meet organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role oversees quality control operations, drives continuous improvement, and leads the QA team to achieve high operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Establish quality policies, SOPs, and guidelines ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor product/service quality through audits, inspections, and testing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and root‑cause analysis to eliminate defects.
- Compliance & Audit
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (ISO, GMP, HACCP, or industry‑specific standards).
- Prepare for and lead internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation required for compliance and certifications.
- Investigate and resolve non‑conformities.
- Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor the QA/QC team, providing training and performance guidance.
- Allocate tasks, monitor daily operations, and ensure consistent quality output.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness across all departments.
- Process Improvement
- Identify gaps in processes and recommend enhancements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with production, operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to optimize workflows.
- Implement quality metrics and KPIs; track performance and generate reports.
- Customer & Supplier Management
- Review and resolve customer complaints related to quality.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding quality issues and ensure vendor compliance.
- Support customer audits and quality‑related discussions.
- Risk Management
- Conduct risk assessments to anticipate potential quality issues.
- Develop preventive and corrective action plans (CAPA).
- Ensure proper testing, validation, and verification processes are in place.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance (managerial experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of QMS standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, GMP, HACCP—depending on industry).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and reporting abilities.
