The position manages more than 10 active projects at different stages and coordinates with clients, consultants, main contractors, sales, design specialists, production, site supervisors, workers, and subcontractors.
Projects include aluminium and steel pergolas, canopies, car-parking shades, motorized pergola systems, glass rooms, façades, doors, windows, partitions, balustrades, miscellaneous metal works, and rectification or warranty projects.
The successful candidate must communicate professionally with clients, confidently manage workers, work independently, demonstrate strong technical judgment, and possess leadership potential and good emotional intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Take operational ownership of assigned projects from kickoff through handover and closeout, ensuring execution remains aligned with the approved scope, programme, quality, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales and other departments to understand confirmed project requirements and ensure an effective project handover.
- Conduct site visits and accurate surveys for quotations when assigned and for ongoing projects, including measurements, levels, access conditions, interfaces, and execution constraints.
- Prepare site sketches, photographs, and technical information for the Architect and Structural Engineer, and review drawings for measurement accuracy, constructability, interfaces, and installation practicality.
- Identify project risks, site constraints, technical issues, and conflicts early; coordinate corrective actions and escalated matters when necessary.
- Confirm site readiness, dimensions, access, materials, installation sequence, site logistics, and other prerequisites before mobilization.
- Supervise assigned Site Supervisors, Foremen, workers, technicians, and subcontractors and provide clear technical and installation instructions.
- Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, structural requirements, method statements, QA/QC standards, and HSE requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, coordinate MIRs, WIRs, RFIs, NCRs, inspections, corrective actions, snagging, and testing, and immediately stop unsafe or nonconforming work.
- Attend site meetings, provide factual progress updates, clarify approved requirements, and handle routine client or main-contractor concerns professionally.
- Monitor progress against the approved programme and track manpower, productivity, delays, completed work, material deliveries, and supporting photographs.
- Identify potential variations or additional work and preserve complete supporting evidence.
- Maintain accurate information in the company’s in-house system. Urgent matters must be updated immediately, while routine information must be completed by the end of the working day.
- Drive rectification, final inspection, handover, and closeout activities to completion.
- Perform other reasonable project-engineering duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
