Job summary

Nova International General Contracting is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing site activities for villa and building projects in the UAE.

You will act as technical link between site team, QA/QC, planning, procurement, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and adherence to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and UAE building experience.
• 8–12 years of experience with main contractors in the UAE preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural, MEP coordination and finishing works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; Primavera P6 is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day site execution and coordination.
• Review IFC/shop drawings, method statements, and technical specs.
• Coordinate with planning for look-ahead programs and progress updates.
• Raise RFIs and ensure proper implementation of ITPs and method statements.
• Interface with QA/QC, procurement, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain site records.
• Ensure HSE procedures are implemented on site and compliance is maintained.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing all site activities. The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that construction works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

The role acts as a key technical link between the site team, QA/QC, planning, procurement, subcontractors, and consultants, supporting smooth project execution and timely progress.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Coordination

• Supervise and manage day‑to‑day construction activities
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
• Review and interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical specifications
• Ensure execution aligns with approved drawings and project requirements

Planning & Progress Monitoring

• Coordinate with the Planning Engineer for weekly and monthly updates
• Prepare look‑ahead programs and identify delays
• Propose recovery actions to maintain progress
• Monitor manpower, materials, and equipment allocation

Technical & Engineering Support

• Provide technical solutions to site issues
• Raise RFIs for missing or unclear information
• Ensure proper implementation of method statements and ITPs

Material & Procurement Coordination

• Prepare material take‑offs and coordinate material requests
• Follow up with procurement on timely delivery
• Ensure delivered materials comply with approved MIRs and specifications

Quality Assurance

• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure timely inspections
• Ensure compliance with QCP, ITPs, and project specifications
• Rectify quality issues and minimize rework

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure implementation of HSE procedures on site
• Coordinate with HSE teams to eliminate unsafe practices

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports
• Maintain site diaries, material logs, inspection logs, and work records
• Assist with as‑built drawings and handover documentation

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with consultants and client representatives for inspections and approvals
• Attend technical and progress meetings and present updates
• Support resolution of site disputes and technical matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience as a Project Engineer in buildings or villa construction
• Strong technical knowledge of civil, structural, MEP coordination, and finishing works
• Experience with main contractors in the UAE preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; Primavera P6 is an advantage
• 8-12 years of experience
