Job Description – Production Engineer

Location: Dubai, UAE

Role Overview

The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing manufacturing and production operations to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective output. The role involves monitoring production processes, improving productivity, ensuring quality compliance, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Engineer works closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to meet production targets while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities to achieve output, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and resources.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Implement process improvements, lean manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure production activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, yield, wastage, and downtime.
  • Support production planning, scheduling, and inventory control activities.
  • Investigate production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare production reports, documentation, and performance analysis for management review.
  • Assist in new product introduction, process trials, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Train and guide production staff on standard operating procedures and best practices.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and process optimization.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Knowledge of production planning and control (PPC) systems.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, process flow diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong awareness of workplace safety and quality management systems.
