The Operations Lead will take day-to-day ownership of last-mile execution for Amazon Ultra Fast Grocery, ensuring dispatch operations, Delivery Service Partners, and Delivery Associates work together effectively across assigned sites. The role has a direct impact on delivery reliability, rider productivity, customer experience, safety, and cost performance. It requires disciplined operational leadership, close DSP coordination, and continuous process improvement to sustain high performance in a fast-moving delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end last-mile operations across a combination of small-format UFG sites.
• Supervise daily dispatch activities and ensure delivery operations run according to plan.
• Monitor customer-facing delivery metrics and take corrective action when performance falls below target.
• Maintain operational and cost objectives while protecting service quality and team morale.
• Oversee on-road Delivery Service Partner performance and ensure agreed operating standards are maintained.
• Drive performance management for internal team members and DSP partners.
• Track Delivery Associate productivity, quality, safety, and service execution.
• Prepare and implement training and development plans for Delivery Associates.
• Work directly with DSP leadership to identify recurring operational issues and improve delivery processes.
• Use performance data to identify root causes behind missed targets or service variability.
• Implement practical action plans that produce sustained improvements in last-mile performance.
• Coordinate with site teams to maintain dispatch readiness and appropriate staffing levels.
• Review operational risks that could affect delivery speed, capacity, safety, or customer experience.
• Conduct daily 4M audits covering manpower, methods, machines, and materials.
• Perform daily 5S audits to support workplace organization, efficiency, and operational discipline.
• Carry out Safety GEMBA audits across stores and operational areas.
• Reinforce safe working practices with Delivery Associates, DSP teams, and site personnel.
• Escalate significant safety, performance, or capacity concerns to relevant stakeholders.
• Support the development and scaling of new UFG operating models across the UAE.
• Maintain clear communication with DSPs and internal teams regarding priorities, performance gaps, and improvement actions.

Ideal Profile

The successful candidate will bring practical experience in last-mile logistics, delivery operations, dispatch management, fulfillment, or a comparable high-volume operating environment. The position requires someone who can supervise multiple small sites while maintaining strong control over rider performance, safety, delivery metrics, cost targets, and operational readiness. Previous experience managing Delivery Service Partners, courier fleets, Delivery Associates, or outsourced delivery teams will be highly relevant. Candidates should be confident coaching teams, handling performance issues, using operational data, and implementing improvement plans in a fast-paced environment. Experience with 4M, 5S, GEMBA, safety audits, and continuous improvement methods will strengthen the profile.
