Job Summary:

The Metallurgical Engineer will be responsible for researching, developing, testing and improving metal materials and processes to ensure quality and performance standards are met. This role involves analyzing material properties, troubleshooting metallurgical issues, and supporting production or R&D projects with technical expertise in metallurgy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement metallurgical processes for manufacturing and material treatment.
  • Conduct failure analyses and root cause investigations for material defects or product issues.
  • Perform metallurgical testing including microstructure analysis, hardness testing and other laboratory tests.
  • Recommend material selection and heat treatment processes based on project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations related to metallurgy and materials handling.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Control and R&D to optimize processes and improve product performance.
  • Monitor supplier quality for raw materials and coordinate material inspections.
  • Provide technical support for customer inquiries and product development projects.
  • Keep updated with advancements in metallurgical technology and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or related field (Master's preferred for advanced roles).
  • Proven experience in a metallurgical or materials engineering role preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, heat treatment, casting, forging and material testing methods.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical lab equipment and analysis tools.
