Role Overview

The Material Planning Team Lead serves as the strategic navigator of the supply chain, ensuring the right materials arrive at the right time to keep production running smoothly and efficiently. This role champions end-to-end planning excellence by forecasting material needs, monitoring inventory levels, optimizing procurement cycles, and coordinating closely with production, logistics, and vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end material planning function across all projects and business lines.
• Develop and implement material planning strategies aligned with production and delivery schedules.
• Ensure forecast accuracy, lead time optimization, and supply-demand balancing.
• Manage and mentor a team of planners and coordinators, ensuring strong capability building.
• Work closely with procurement, inventory, and production teams to resolve shortages and bottlenecks.
• Drive process improvements and automation in planning systems (ERP/SAP).
• Represent Material Planning and support strategic decision-making.
• Track KPIs (forecast accuracy, OTIF, inventory turnover, etc.) and provide insights for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial/mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8-10 years’ experience in material planning/supply chain, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
• Strong expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced analytics/reporting (Excel, Power BI).
• Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects.
• Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced certifications (APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent).
• Experience in multi-country operations (KSA/UAE region).
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma practices for planning optimization.
