Job summary

An engineering firm in the UAE is looking for a Material & Corrosion Specialist based in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have at least 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly focusing on material and corrosion for offshore operations. A Bachelor's degree in metallurgical or mechanical engineering is required, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The role involves conducting failure investigations, root cause analysis, and providing technical support.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of materials for use in sour service requirements.

Job Description

KBR Abu Dhabi currently looking to fill a position of Material & Corrosion Specialist Offshore PMC project to be based in Abu Dhabi City in EPC Contractors office.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 17 Years Experience in Oil and Gas Fields in Material and Corrosion for offshore/ onshore. Corrosion Software (e.g. ECE Predict etc..
  • Good interpersonal relationship planning & organizing skills.
  • Good knowledge of materials for use in sour service requirements and indepth knowledge of NACE standards MR0175/ISO 15156 MR0103 TM 0177 TM 0284 etc.
  • Have sound understanding in material / corrosion failure investigation studies for in service and projects and establishing the root cause analysis and suggest mitigation actions to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Familiar with the use of nonmetallics in oil and gas applications.
  • Have good knowledge on Corrosion mitigations viz. chemical injection inhibitors / biocides cathodic protection (CP) internal coatings cladding etc.
  • Have Communication skill (written and oral) to clarify technical concepts to all levels of stake holders.
  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in metallurgical or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
