The Manager - Business Development MEA in Dubai will expand Amazon's consumer subscriptions business across the Middle East and Africa. The role secures new distribution partnerships, strengthens existing strategic accounts, and develops business models that unlock long‑term growth through telecommunications companies and other partner ecosystems, with particular focus on Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute country‑specific business development strategies with internal stakeholder teams.
- Identify new distribution opportunities for Amazon consumer subscription services across the Middle East and Africa.
- Prioritize partnership opportunities in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and other agreed regional markets.
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of telecommunications companies and other potential distribution partners.
- Own relationships with existing strategic partner accounts and maintain regular engagement with senior executives.
- Lead quarterly business reviews and evaluate partner performance, customer acquisition, commercial results, and growth opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to optimize, expand, renew, or renegotiate existing partnership agreements.
- Develop new commercial models that use partner ecosystems to increase subscription adoption and long‑term customer value.
- Lead partner activity from initial outreach and commercial discussion through negotiation, approval, contract signature, and implementation planning.
- Negotiate complex strategic distribution agreements that balance customer value, partner objectives, and Amazon's commercial requirements.
- Coordinate internal due diligence, financial assessment, legal review, risk evaluation, and approval processes.
- Prepare clear business documents that explain partnership rationale, financial impact, operating mechanisms, risks, and execution plans.
- Present partnership proposals to senior leadership and secure the approvals required to proceed.
- Work with Product, Prime, Retail, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure proposed deals meet stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinate with other Amazon business development teams to leverage established relationships and avoid fragmented partner engagement.
- Present a consistent Amazon proposition to regional partners across multiple business areas.
- Monitor agreement performance and ensure commercial commitments, launch schedules, and operational milestones remain on track.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to resolve barriers and move complex transactions toward completion.
- Maintain accurate partnership records, opportunity pipelines, approval documents, negotiation notes, and performance reports.
- Track regional market developments, competitor activity, telecommunications trends, and subscription‑distribution models.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in go‑to‑market strategy, business development, sales, strategic partnerships, or management consulting.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategies that influence organizational leadership decisions.
- Experience identifying, structuring, negotiating, and executing corporate or commercial transactions.
- Proven success managing complex partnerships from initial engagement through signed agreement.
- Ability to own senior partner relationships and conduct structured business reviews.
- Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams and coordinating interdependent workstreams.
- Strong understanding of commercial negotiations, account optimization, and partnership economics.
- Ability to prepare detailed business cases, approval documents, financial recommendations, and implementation plans.
- Experience influencing executives and stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment with the ability to assess strategic value, risk, and long‑term growth potential.
- Capable of managing multiple negotiations, accounts, and internal approval processes simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional fluency in Arabic is preferred.
- Professional fluency in Turkish is preferred.
- Experience working with telecommunications companies, consumer subscriptions, digital services, or regional distribution partnerships is advantageous.
