Job summary

Shangri-La Hotel in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Business Development Manager – MICE to drive revenue by building and managing MICE accounts. You will align sales strategies with the hotel's luxury positioning and large-scale event capabilities, while nurturing relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and agencies.

You will lead contract negotiations, collaborate with operations, and monitor market trends to maximize profitability for meetings, incentives, conferences and events

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the UAE MICE market, event planning processes, and group contracting.
• Excellent negotiation, sales, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage complex proposals, large-scale events, and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication, presentation, and coordination skills across departments.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to forecast, budget, and track MICE performance.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional certifications in Sales, Revenue Management, or Marketing are an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and manage MICE accounts to achieve rooms, banquet, and event revenue targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, PCOs, and MICE agencies.
• Prepare and negotiate group contracts, proposals, and event packages in coordination with operations teams.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies within the UAE MICE segment.
• Represent the hotel at trade shows, sales missions, site inspections, and networking events.
