Job summary

ALEC Holdings is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to lead the movement of materials and equipment across projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and on-time delivery.

You will coordinate with project teams, control schedules, manage subcontractors, and drive continuous improvements in site logistics, waste management, and resource efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction logistics experience.
• Minimum 8 years in a construction environment as a Foreman-Snr or Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and on-site logistics with the Logistics Manager.
• Liaise with foremen, site engineers and subcontractors on logistics issues.
• Ensure logistics plans meet site requirements and are properly implemented.
• Maintain accurate logistics planner, tracking, and resource utilization.
• Ensure waste management, traffic control, and site housekeeping KPI targets.
• Manage Sub-Contractors and ensure licenses and certifications are up to date.
• Represent Logistics Department in meetings and prepare MOM.

About Your Team

Our Logistics team plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects by coordinating the movement, storage, and timely availability of materials, equipment, and resources.

Working closely with project management, procurement, commercial, warehouse, plant, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams, the team ensures that logistics activities are carefully planned, coordinated, and executed in line with project requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations.

We are committed to delivering efficient logistics solutions, maintaining clear communication across stakeholders, minimizing operational disruptions, and continuously improving logistics processes to support safe and timely project delivery.

Your Role

Logistics Coordinator communicates and oversees management directives given by the Logistics Manager, playing a key role in ensuring effective communication between Foremen/Labours and Management. The role maintains a reliable, top-quality performance from the logistics team, drives structured planning, tracking, and monitoring of logistics activities, and supports continuous improvement across site logistics operations

• Ensure logistics operations are executed with accurate scheduling and technical quality on site.
• Liaise with the Logistics Manager for daily planning and logistics strategies.
• Liaise with Site Engineers and Sub-Contractors on logistics issues.
• Ensure the logistics plan conforms to site requirements and is properly implemented.
• Liaise with the Site Surveyor to ensure accurate setting out of temporary services.
• Directly control, motivate, and discipline Foremen, Operators, and Drivers within the logistics scope.
• Maintain strategic control of all ALEC logistics labour and their productivity.
• Study drawings and details, ensuring accuracy of work carried out and querying unclear or missing information with the Logistics Manager.
• Coordinate all waste removal and housekeeping of common areas, ensuring waste management project KPI’s are monitored and achieved.
• Ensure traffic management is maintained across the site.
• Oversee site establishment and office maintenance.
• Control and manage Sub-Contractors working within common areas, including externals and stores.
• Develop a thorough understanding of each Sub-Contractor’s scope of work and control their site activities in line with housekeeping, plant, and storage requirements.
• Ensure market-related pricing is obtained from logistics suppliers.
• Liaise with Site Engineers and Managers to achieve efficient utilisation of resources across the site – plant, labour, and materials – to meet and exceed contract programme deadlines.
• Develop and maintain a logistics activities planner, work sequence, and tracker to ensure structured and efficient delivery of logistics tasks.
• Ensure efficient material control, handling, and storage across the site.
• Ensure all common areas and stores are kept neat, tidy, and well organised.
• Coordinate designated areas for Sub-Contractors and stores.
• Ensure all plant and operators hold valid licenses and certifications.
• Protect the environment with regard to hazardous substances and waste on site, ensuring correct disposal.
• Ensure MSRA are in place for all work and that appropriate permits are signed prior to commencement.
• Ensure adequate site welfare is maintained at all times.
• Represent the Logistics Department in meetings, including the ability to run internal meetings and prepare Minutes of Meeting (MOM).
• Champion the internal online portal to drive user adoption and demonstrate its value through measurable results.
• Apply technical expertise and discipline-specific knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes within your area of specialisation
• Apply the Company’s frameworks to guide role expectations, levels of responsibility, skills, development, and progression.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and/or responsibilities as required by management, to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualification in appropriate discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience and/or
• 7+ years experience
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in a construction environment as a Foreman- Snr or Engineer is required.
