Job summary

ALEC Building is seeking a Digital Construction Engineer to support digital construction processes and BIM workflows across large-scale UAE projects. You will work with project teams to improve coordination and information flow using BIM and other digital technologies.

Qualifications

• Awareness of ISO 19650 & Information Management (IM) processes.
• Experience with BIM authoring tools (Revit, Tekla, Archicad).
• Familiarity with coordination software (Navisworks, Revizto).
• Awareness of Cloud-Based CDE platforms (Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative & detail-oriented approach.
• Familiarity with visual programming (Dynamo) & data management (Power BI).
• Interest in automated model checking & data validation (Solibri).
• Analytical thinker with a positive, adaptable mindset.
• Willingness to learn & develop in digital construction technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring client exchange information requirements are delivered against.
• Support the configuration and administration of ALEC’s distributed CDE solutions and core collaboration stack.
• Contribute to setup and operation of BIM workflows from contract award to handover.
• Carry out QA/QC checks on BIM models and information deliverables.
• Oversee teams and processes, supporting development and ensuring delivery of objectives.
• Encourage ESG awareness and sustainable practices within teams.
• Encourage continuous improvement and adoption of smarter methods.
• Apply technical expertise to deliver high-quality outcomes in your area.

About Your Team

Our Digital Construction team plays a key role in integrating digital technologies and processes into project delivery. Working closely with BIM, design, engineering, planning, project management, and site teams, the team supports improved coordination, constructability, productivity, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

The team is committed to driving digital adoption, improving construction workflows, and ensuring that project information is accurate, accessible, and effectively utilised by all relevant stakeholders.

Your Role

As a Digital Construction Engineer, you will support the implementation and management of digital construction processes across assigned projects, helping project teams maximise the value of BIM and other digital technologies throughout the construction lifecycle.

• Assist in ensuring client exchange information requirements are delivered against.
• Understand and where required support the development and upkeep of information management resources, including the BIM execution plan, lead appointed party exchange information requirements, responsibility matrices, and master information delivery plan.
• Support the configuration and administration of ALEC’s distributed CDE solution(s) and core collaboration technology stack.
• Contribute to the setup and operation of BIM workflows from contract award through to handover.
• Assist in 3D spatial coordination, reporting clashes and issues to project stakeholders.
• Provide day-to-day support for BIM processes, use cases, and associated digital tools.
• Carry out QA/QC checks on BIM models and information deliverables.
• Oversee teams and processes, supporting development and ensuring effective delivery of objectives.
• Encourage Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) awareness within teams, supporting sustainable practices and responsible decision-making.
• Encourage continuous improvement and innovation within teams by identifying opportunities to refine processes, adopt smarter methods, and improve overall outcomes.
• Apply technical expertise and discipline-specific knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes within your area of specialisation.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and/or responsibilities as required by management, to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Digital Engineering
• 2+ years of relevant experience in BIM, digital construction, construction engineering
