Job summary

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate Commis I to join our culinary team in a Lebanese fine dining setting. You will support the preparation and presentation of traditional dishes, work with fresh ingredients, and learn from an experienced team in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities include assisting senior chefs, maintaining mise en place, and ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commis Chef or similar role in a hotel/restaurant.
• Culinary qualification or formal kitchen training is a plus.
• Knowledge of Lebanese cuisine and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare fresh ingredients (vegetables, herbs, meats) for Lebanese dishes.
• Support preparation of mezze, appetisers, hot/cold dishes, and menu items.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines for consistency.
• Complete mise en place and ensure ingredients/equipment are ready before service.
• Assist with presenting dishes to meet fine dining standards.
