Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, UAE, is seeking a Kitchen Equipment Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment on site. You will handle electric and gas appliances, refrigeration systems, gas controls and compressors while supporting preventive maintenance across the property.

The role requires hands-on expertise, soldering/brazing skills, and the ability to read wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and condition-based checks per manuals.

Position Overview

Atlantis Resorts is hiring a Kitchen Equipment Technician in Dubai, UAE to inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment at Atlantis The Royal. The role requires hands‑on expertise across electric and gas kitchen appliances, refrigeration systems, gas controls, compressors and associated components while supporting preventive and condition‑based maintenance throughout the property.

Commercial Kitchen Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain, modify, troubleshoot and repair electric and gas commercial kitchen equipment.
• Diagnose faults involving piping, gas controls and air‑to‑gas mixture systems.
• Repair industrial steam cookers, ovens, dishwashers, washers and dryers.
• Maintain refrigerators, walk‑in freezers and ice machines.
• Service water coolers and other commercial kitchen appliances.
• Install new kitchen and refrigeration equipment when required.
• Identify and repair leaks.
• Check and adjust wiring controls and equipment settings.
• Replace worn, damaged or defective equipment components.
• Apply practical knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment operation when diagnosing faults.

Refrigeration Technical Support

• Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment.
• Perform soldering and brazing for refrigeration maintenance activities.
• Support refrigeration system repair and installation work.
• Assist with compressor installation and replacement.
• Read and interpret relevant wiring diagrams.
• Follow manufacturer operation and maintenance manuals during servicing and repair activities.

Facilities Maintenance

The role also supports general facilities maintenance requirements across the property. Depending on assigned work, this may involve electrical, mechanical, recreational water, fire life safety, hotel room, public area and other resort systems within the technician ’s technical scope. You will report to the Supervisor and Manager and complete assigned tasks according to operational priorities.

Preventive Maintenance and Equipment Reliability

• Carry out Condition Based Maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Complete preventive maintenance according to equipment manufacturer and property guidelines.
• Respond to equipment faults and breakdowns.
• Escalate significant technical issues to senior personnel when required.
• Maintain issued tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Ensure calibration remains current where applicable.
• Become familiar with the property layout to support efficient maintenance response.
• Provide technical guidance and training to other colleagues when required.

Safety and Operational Readiness

All work must be performed according to applicable health and safety procedures, including correct use of personal protective equipment. The position requires assigned shift coverage and the ability to perform technical duties during building emergencies. Work areas must be kept clean and safe before, during and after maintenance activities.

About You

Candidates should have at least six years of experience in a relevant facilities maintenance trade together with trade school or higher education. Strong practical knowledge of commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment is required, including electric and gas appliances, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, steam cookers, dishwashers, ice machines and associated systems. You should understand gas controls, piping, refrigeration maintenance, compressors and electrical wiring controls. Soldering and brazing skills are required, along with the ability to interpret wiring diagrams and follow equipment operation and maintenance manuals.
