About the Role

As an HVAC Technician, you will independently perform assigned maintenance work across cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems while supporting the wider Facilities operation. The position combines preventive and condition-based maintenance with troubleshooting, equipment repairs and operational monitoring. You will report to the Supervisor and Manager and respond to maintenance requirements according to manufacturer instructions and property standards.

HVAC and Cooling Systems

• Operate and maintain chilled water systems.
• Support ETS room and district cooling operations.
• Maintain AHUs, FAHUs and FCUs.
• Inspect and service ventilation fans and associated equipment.
• Diagnose HVAC system faults and complete appropriate repairs.
• Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance tasks on assigned equipment.
• Rebuild valves and replace worn components.
• Perform brazing and fabrication work where required.
• Support major HVAC repairs within the assigned technical scope.

Refrigeration Maintenance

• Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems.
• Provide technical attention to hotel freezers and refrigerators.
• Service ice makers and related refrigeration equipment.
• Maintain fan coil units and chillers.
• Diagnose equipment problems and replace defective or worn components.
• Support reliable refrigeration performance across hotel operations.

BMS and Controls

The position requires working knowledge of Building Management System operations and the ability to use BMS information when monitoring or troubleshooting HVAC equipment. You will also support the operation and maintenance of basic electrical systems and controls associated with HVAC, refrigeration and mechanical equipment.

Preventive and Condition-Based Maintenance

• Carry out Condition Based Maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Complete preventive maintenance according to equipment manufacturer guidelines.
• Follow property maintenance procedures and technical manuals.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify developing faults.
• Escalate significant technical issues to senior personnel.
• Maintain issued tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Keep equipment calibration current where applicable.
• Become familiar with the property layout for effective maintenance response.

Facilities Support

• The wider maintenance scope may include mechanical, electrical, kitchen, painting, carpentry, audio and visual, fire life safety, recreational water, hotel room, public area and exterior resort systems within the technician 's assigned capabilities.

The role also requires supporting assigned shift coverage and carrying out necessary technical duties during building emergencies.

Safety and Work Standards

All maintenance work must follow applicable health and safety requirements, including correct use of personal protective equipment. Work areas must remain clean and safe before, during and after maintenance activities. Any significant housekeeping or safety concerns should be reported to the appropriate supervisor. The position also involves sharing technical knowledge and providing training or guidance to other colleagues when required.

About You

Candidates should have at least six years of experience in a relevant facilities maintenance trade and should have attended trade school or higher education. You should have practical knowledge of ETS rooms, district cooling and chilled water systems together with hands-on experience maintaining AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs and ventilation equipment. Experience with refrigeration equipment, chillers, freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, valve rebuilding, brazing and fabrication is important. Knowledge of BMS operations and basic electrical systems and controls is also required.
