Junior IT Engineer / IT Technician

Job Purpose
The Junior IT Engineer / IT Technician provides first-level technical support to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems, hardware, and software across the organization. The role supports end users, assists with system maintenance, data management, network administration, and helps maintain IT infrastructure, security, and meeting room readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day desktop and end‑user support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Perform data management tasks including system data updates, backups, and basic reporting
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, operating systems, and standard business applications
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, digital tools, and basic network connectivity issues
- Provide network and digital support, including LAN, Wi‑Fi, and basic routing/switching assistance
- Assist with IT administration tasks such as user account management, access rights, and asset tracking
- Support system administration activities under guidance, including monitoring system performance
- Arrange, configure, and support meeting rooms, video conferencing systems, and AV equipment
- Assist in onboarding by preparing IT equipment, system access, and workstation setup for new employees
- Perform routine system checks, updates, patching, and backups
- Escalate unresolved technical or network issues to senior IT staff or external vendors
- Maintain accurate documentation for IT assets, incidents, service requests, and system changes
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and information security standards

- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, and IT hardware

- Good communication skills with a strong customer‑service mindset

Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in data management, network & desktop support, IT administration, digital support, and system administration
- 4 years of experience in IT support or technical assistance roles
- CCNA or other relevant IT certifications are an advantage
