Job summary

Dautom is seeking an IT Support Specialist in Sharjah for a contract role. You will support desktop, laptop, printer devices and approved peripherals, install and configure new devices, and manage tickets while providing user guidance.

You will interact with network teams for connectivity, maintain documentation, and assist users with OS and application support in both Arabic and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years IT support experience.
• Arabic proficiency mandatory.
• Valid UAE driving licence mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain desktop, laptops, printers and approved peripherals.
• Install and configure devices and software; update OS.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on devices.
• Provide daily technical support and resolve basic faults.
• Prepare user devices per standards and policies.
• Log and track tickets; escalate complex issues to Level 2.
• Provide basic connectivity support; coordinate with networks teams.
• Prepare/update user guides and technical instructions.
• Train users on OS and approved apps.
• Perform other related technical support duties.

Position: IT Support Specialist

Job Type: Contract

Location: Sharjah

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain desktop and laptop computers, printers, scanners and approved peripherals.
• Install and configure new devices; install and update operating systems and approved software.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on devices and peripheral equipment.
• Provide daily technical support to users and resolve basic hardware, software and printer faults.
• Prepare and configure user devices in line with standards and policies.
• Log and track support tickets, document actions taken, and elevate advanced issues to Level 2.
• Provide basic support for user connectivity issues, coordinating with network and systems teams as needed.
• Prepare or update user guides and technical instructions for systems and off-the-shelf applications.
• Train and guide users on basic use of operating systems and approved applications.
• Perform any other related technical support duties assigned by the direct manager.

Technical Skills

• Windows client OS installation, configuration and troubleshooting
• Microsoft Office / Outlook end-user support
• Printer, scanner and peripheral setup and troubleshooting
• Basic networking (LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity, IP configuration)
• Ticketing / service desk tools and ITIL-style incident handling
• Strong customer service and communication skills in Arabic and English

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (mandatory)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant IT support experience
• Arabic proficiency (mandatory)
• Valid UAE driving licence (mandatory) – role involves travel between sites

Preferred / Advantage

• Professional certifications, e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop / Endpoint Administrator, ITIL Foundation
• Previous experience supporting a UAE government entity
• Additional hands-on practical experience beyond the minimum
