Job summary

A leading global blockchain company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to design and implement audit strategies for regulatory compliance. You'll propose recommendations for compliance improvements and develop risk-based audit plans. The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or accounting, with a good understanding of international auditing standards. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills are essential. The role offers an opportunity to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement audit strategies for evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls relating to fulfillment of regulatory compliance obligations, including but not limited to the ADGM regulatory regime
  • Propose audit recommendations to improve regulatory compliance, while assessing business needs and operational feasibility
  • Support the development of annual risk-based audit plans that remain dynamic in response to evolving business needs.
  • Responsible for delivery of the plan, including evaluation of the design and operating effectiveness of key controls in place to mitigate risks
  • Participate in other operational audits as may be deemed necessary
  • Propose enhancements to the control environment, based on identified weaknesses and insights from industry and regulatory expectations
  • Support the execution of risk-based analytical data sampling
  • Ownership of the end-to-end delivery of audits, in line with the IA Methodology
  • Participate in peer review and quality assurance reviews
Requirements
  • At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in law, business administration or accounting / other analytical discipline
  • Good understanding of Internal Audit international standards and best practices as well as Risk Managementand Internal Control Systems
  • Familiarity with the ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market) regulatory regime or experience in working with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) or other regulatory bodies is a plus
  • Experience in implementing or reviewing regulatory requirements and best practices applicable for financial institutions with international footprint (preferably regulatory frameworks for Virtual Assets and/or other financial instruments)
  • Knowledge and expertise in international standards and best practices in counteracting financial crime and sanctions (e.g. FATF)
  • Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensures data and reporting needs are well understood and delivered promptly
  • Analytical, proactive and flexible in dual-hatting between daily production and occasional change initiatives
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
