The innovation researcher will bridge market intelligence and product development. Coming from an analyst or advisory background they will apply their research rigor and strategic thinking to help us understand our market, validate product decisions and identify growth opportunities. You will work closely with product, design, marketing and engineering to ensure we focus on opportunities aligned to real market needs. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have experience with creating a product profile with independent tech research companies.

Requirements
- Conduct primary and secondary research to understand market landscapes, competitive positioning and customer needs
- Design and execute research studies using various methodologies (interviews, surveys, market analysis, competitive intelligence)
- Synthesize complex research findings into clear strategic insights that inform product roadmap and business decisions
- Build deep understanding of target markets, buyer personas and decision‑making processes
- Analyse market trends, emerging technologies and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities
- Collaborate with product management and marketing teams to validate hypotheses and inform strategy. Translate market intelligence into actionable product requirements and positioning recommendations.
- Present research findings and strategic recommendations to leadership and cross‑functional teams
- Establish research frameworks and processes to support product development at scale
Technology & Innovation Intelligence
- Track and analyse emerging technologies, with a strong emphasis on:
- AI / ML, data platforms, analytics
- Cloud, digital platforms, and enterprise software
- Assess how technology trends translate into commercially viable product opportunities
- Contribute to innovation pipelines by identifying adjacent and future‑state opportunities
Insight Communication & Thought Leadership
- Synthesize complex findings into clear narratives, frameworks, and visuals for senior stakeholders
- Present insights and recommendations to leadership, product councils, and cross‑functional teams
- Contribute to whitepapers, research briefs, market reports, and thought‑leadership content that support brand positioning and GTM activity
Research Capability Building
- Establish and evolve research frameworks, templates, and best practices
- Build a structured repository of insights, personas, market maps, and competitive intelligence
- Help scale research operations to support a growing product portfolio and innovation agenda
- 8-10 Years of experience in research, analysis or advisory roles (backgrounds from Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Innovation analyst firms are valued)
- Experience of conducting primary and secondary research, and publishing insights to identify market trends and emerging opportunities
- Comfortable transitioning from a research/advisory environment to a fast paced startup where resources and time may be limited
- Familiarity with competitive and market sizing methodologies
- Experience working with technology companies, in particular companies focused on data and AI
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to work with qualitative insights and quantitative data
Experience publishing industry research papers, market analyses or thought leadership content
Experience in early and mid stage startups
