Responsibilities

• Primes dialyzer and bloodlines.
• Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Oversees the dialysis treatment from start to finish.
• Cannulates accesses.
• Cleans and dresses permanent and temporary catheters.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients.
• Identifies irregular dialysis reactions and notifies medical team.
• Secures blood works.
• Teaches patients about post-treatment care.
• Maintains medical inventory.
• Provides pre and post procedure care.
• Conducts home visit assessments for hemodialysis.
• Follows Nephrologist orders.
• Conducts patient assessments when indicated.
• Recommends treatment changes based on patient needs.
• Facilitates communication between patients and training team.
• Provides oversight to dialysis technicians.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
