Main Purpose of Job

To lead and manage the nursing team in the provision of patient-centric and evidence based nursing care operational efficiency and positive patient experiences

Key Responsibility Areas
  • To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
  • To ensure evidenced based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards
  • To ensure a positive patient care experience by developing employees and creating an environment for team engagement
  • To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost effective and efficient manner to enhance safe patient care
  • To ensure compliance with legislative regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continues quality improvement
Required Education

Essential: Bachelors Degree in Nursing from a recognised/accredited Nursing Institute

Required Experience

Essential: At least 5 years nursing experience in outpatient setting

Desired: 3-5 Years senior nursing experience managing/ overseeing staff in an outpatient setting

Required Job Skills and Knowledge
  • Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment planning nursing diagnosis implementation and evaluation)
  • Application of the nursing scope of practices as stipulated in the regulatory framework
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Demonstrate competence in assessment of all nursing procedures
  • Demonstrate competence in the application of key clinical equipment used in the clinic
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of patient care and nursing management
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of relevant Acts statutory regulations and directives and the application thereof to management of the nursing team/unit
  • Demonstrate the ability to cost-effectively control expenses
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of all relevant external standards and manage compliance to these standards
  • Risk management principles systems and best practice
  • Stock control principles and management
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
