Duty Manager – Retail Store Operations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Retail hiring opportunity for an experienced store operations leader with strong skills in team supervision, customer service, stock control, sales performance, SOP compliance, and daily retail floor management. This role supports Al-Futtaim Retail by overseeing day-to-day store activity, maintaining smooth opening and closing routines, guiding department teams, improving customer experience, and ensuring store standards are consistently delivered across Clothing, Food, and Cafe operations. The position is ideal for a hands‑on retail professional who can lead from the sales floor, motivate colleagues during busy trading periods, manage stock accuracy, review sales performance, and keep service standards aligned with business expectations. The successful candidate will work closely with store leadership, operations teams, visual merchandising teams, and frontline colleagues to support sales growth, operational discipline, and a positive shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support department teams to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets.
- Create a positive and collaborative working environment where colleagues feel informed, engaged, and accountable.
- Conduct team meetings, one-to-one discussions, and performance reviews to provide feedback, set goals, and improve team capability.
- Ensure colleagues are trained on product knowledge, store policies, customer service expectations, and operational procedures.
- Manage daily store operations during key trading periods, including store opening, store closing, shift handovers, and cash counting.
- Support smooth shift transitions by ensuring teams are briefed, priorities are clear, and store standards are maintained.
- Handle key administrative duties including cash reconciliation, financial record updates, and related store documentation.
- Monitor sales floor activity and ensure customers receive helpful, professional, and timely service.
- Lead by example in customer interaction, product recommendations, upselling, and issue resolution.
- Respond to customer queries and concerns quickly, professionally, and in line with service standards.
- Oversee stock management routines to maintain accurate stock levels and strong product availability on the sales floor.
- Manage replenishment activity and ensure fast‑moving products are available during trading hours.
- Coordinate inventory transfers and ensure stock movements are tracked properly across the store.
- Conduct gap scanning, cyclic counts, and stock checks to support accuracy and reduce stock loss.
- Follow replenishment procedures and use store tools or apps to maintain product availability.
- Implement and uphold company SOPs across Clothing, Food, Cafe, customer touchpoints, stock areas, and service processes.
- Ensure compliance with Trading Safety, legal requirements, health and safety standards, and internal store procedures.
- Review SOP updates with colleagues and ensure policies are applied consistently during daily operations.
- Work with store leadership to analyze sales data, identify trends, and recommend practical actions to improve results.
- Support department profitability by managing staffing levels, customer flow, stock availability, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with the Visual Merchandising team during weekly walks to review displays, product placement, and commercial presentation.
- Provide feedback on merchandising opportunities that can improve customer engagement and sales performance.
- Maintain high floor standards during peak periods, promotions, seasonal activity, and busy customer traffic.
- Support the Operations Team Lead with store priorities, action plans, performance updates, and operational improvements.
Ideal Profile
- Proven experience in retail management, duty management, department supervision, or a similar store leadership role.
- Experience in Clothing, Food, Cafe, or multi‑category Retail operations will be a strong advantage.
- Strong ability to lead, motivate, and engage store teams in a fast‑paced trading environment.
- Good understanding of sales floor operations, customer service standards, cash handling, and store opening and closing routines.
- Strong stock management knowledge, including inventory transfers, replenishment processes, cyclic counts, gap scanning, and stock accuracy controls.
- Able to analyze sales data and use commercial insights to support better store decisions.
- Good knowledge of SOPs, Trading Safety, health and safety, legal compliance, and customer interaction standards in Retail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to brief teams, handle customers, and coordinate with support functions.
- Confident decision‑maker who can remain calm and practical during peak periods.
