Job summary

GMG Gulf in Dubai seeks a Store Manager – Retail Operations to lead store performance in commercial, operational and customer service areas. You will drive sales targets, manage staff, inventory, cash controls and visual standards while ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

  • Practical knowledge of stock receiving, replenishment, transfers and inventory accuracy.

  • Ability to interpret sales reports and recommend commercial actions.
  • Experience maintaining visual merchandising and store presentation standards.
  • Confident leadership, coaching and performance management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant retail tools.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate store sales targets clearly and guide the team toward agreed financial objectives.
  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly performance against revenue, conversion and productivity goals.
  • Develop action plans to improve sales, profitability and customer engagement.
  • Maintain effective loss prevention standards covering cash, fraud and merchandise theft.
  • Ensure all cash handling and point‑of‑sale activities comply with approved procedures.
  • Oversee sales transactions, customer orders, payments, refunds and returns.
  • Ensure sales are registered accurately and inventory records are updated correctly.
  • Manage petty cash, change floats and point‑of‑sale cash elements.
  • Audit store administration regularly and resolve documentation or control issues.
  • Support annual stock counts, cycle counts and spot checks.
  • Investigate stock variances and implement corrective action.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues within company policy.
  • Respond promptly to customer feedback and identify recurring service concerns.
  • Track brand performance and evaluate results across new and core product collections.
  • Research market trends, competitor activity and local trading conditions.
  • Recommend commercial actions to improve store sales and profitability.
  • Review sales reports and use findings to maximize stock potential.
  • Maintain window displays and in‑store merchandising according to brand guidelines.
  • Ensure promotional displays, product placement and visual standards remain accurate.
  • Oversee stock availability, order management and back‑store organization.
  • Control stock movement within the store and maintain accurate merchandise records.
  • Monitor stock ageing, product loss, space utilisation and inventory productivity.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities department on store repairs and equipment replacement.
  • Support preventive maintenance programmes that extend the usable life of store assets.
  • Maintain staffing levels that support operational demand and customer service expectations.
  • Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage across all shifts.
  • Plan rosters around seasonal peaks, promotional events and expected customer traffic.
