Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for the complete execution of dive and snorkel trips, ensuring smooth operations at sea. This role is performance-based and suits a highly organized Divemaster or higher-level professional who is comfortable managing people, logistics, and costs.

The Operations Manager acts as the link between bookings, boats, and dive staff, and must be capable of stepping in operationally when needed.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations

Plan and execute daily dive and snorkel trips

Coordinate instructors, divemasters, freelancers, and support staff

Ensure correct staffing for each trip based on bookings

Manage water, ice, fruits, and onboard supplies

Ensure all trips run safely, efficiently, and on schedule

Staff & Team Management

Select, schedule, and manage dive professionals per trip

Adjust team size based on trip requirements

Ensure all staff comply with PADI standards and local regulations

Step in as Divemaster or Boat Captain when required (staff shortages)

Cost & Resource Management

Manage per-trip operational budgets

Cover professional staff payments, fuel, consumables, and routine servicing

Optimize staffing to maintain profitability without compromising safety

Coordinate routine oil changes and regular boat servicing

Report major maintenance issues immediately to management

Safety & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with PADI standards and safety procedures

Conduct dive briefings and oversee safe diving practices

Handle minor incidents professionally and report any major issues

Maintain high standards of customer care and professionalism

Requirements (Mandatory)

PADI Divemaster certification (minimum)

Strong organizational and leadership skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
