Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize biochemical processes including fermentation, cell culture, enzymatic reactions and downstream purification.
• Scale laboratory processes to pilot and industrial scale ensuring process efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to implement new bioprocess technologies.
• Conduct process simulations and risk assessments to improve yield throughput and safety.
• Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, batch records and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
• Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations and industry standards (e.g. GMP, ISO).
• Evaluate and select equipment, materials and technologies suitable for biochemical manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or a related field. Ph.D. is a plus.
• 25 years of hands‑on experience in bioprocess development or biochemical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of biochemistry, microbiology and chemical engineering principles.
• Proficiency in using bioreactors, chromatography systems and analytical instruments (e.g. HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers).
• Experience with process modeling software (e.g. Aspen Plus, SuperPro Designer) is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in GMP‑regulated environments.
• Knowledge of metabolic engineering or synthetic biology.
• Familiarity with PAT (Process Analytical Technology) and QbD (Quality by Design) principles.
