Job Requisition

Position Title: Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil)

Location: Project Site

Reporting To: Resident Engineer (Civil)

Employment Type: Project-based / Full-time

Job Purpose

To assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and monitoring civil works at site, ensuring construction activities are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes, and local authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in daily supervision of civil construction works, including earthworks, concrete works, structures, roads, utilities, and associated activities.
• Monitor contractor's works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project quality requirements.
• Coordinate with site inspectors to ensure proper inspection, testing, and documentation of works.
• Review contractor's shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals, and provide comments as required.
• Verify setting‑out works, levels, alignments, and dimensions at site.
• Monitor construction progress against the approved baseline program and report delays or deviations.
• Identify site issues, non‑conformances, and potential risks, and assist in proposing corrective actions.
• Attend site meetings, technical meetings, and coordination meetings with contractors and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and report unsafe practices immediately.
• Assist in reviewing interim payment applications, measurements, and quantities as instructed by the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain proper site records, inspection reports, and daily progress reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in civil construction supervision, preferably on infrastructure or utility projects.
• Prior experience working with consultants / PMCs is preferred.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and international codes and standards.
• Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and QA/QC procedures.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong site supervision and coordination skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work independently under the guidance of the Resident Engineer.
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of project management tools is an advantage.
