Job summary

A financial services company in Dubai is seeking an Assistant Plant Controller to support the Plant Controller in managing all financial aspects of plant operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health of the plant by providing accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing finance, and strong skills in ERP systems. Qualifications

Job description

The Assistant Plant Controller supports the Plant Controller in managing all financial aspects of plant operations including budgeting cost control financial reporting and inventory analysis. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health of the plant by providing accurate data insightful analysis and supporting compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing monthly quarterly and annual financial reports for plant operations
  • Support budgeting forecasting and variance analysis processes
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs labor and overhead
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation and control; perform cycle counts and audits
  • Assist with capital expenditure tracking and reporting
  • Collaborate with operations teams to drive cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
  • Maintain compliance with company financial policies and internal controls
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (CPA/CMA is a plus)
  • 24 years of experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting inventory management and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial staff

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus
