We are in search for a Registered Nurse who will render and promote cost effective, safe, quality patient care in accordance with the hospital standards and policies.

The team member will further be responsible for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs. The Registered Nurse is a role model in the delivery of evidence-based care. This team member will actively participate in Clinical Governance.

The team member will be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients. The team member will perform nursing duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core standards.

1. Contribute to the holistic care of patients.
2. Maintain the principles of aseptic technique when opening packs and consumables.
3. Help control patient and hospital costs through the correct, safe, and economical use of supplies and equipment.
4. Effective communication with patients regarding their care.
5. Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives, and visitors.
6. Ensure proper evidence-based nursing care.
7. Ensure that all patients have an appropriate nursing care plan.
8. Communicate with Health Care Practitioners regarding any change in health status.
9. Compliance with documentation policy.
10. Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately.
11. Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act.
12. Assume responsibility for own personal and professional development.
13. Assume responsibility for maintaining competence in CPR/BLS/Anesthetic refresher course.
14. Project a positive professional image.
15. Promote and maintain good working and interpersonal relationships with management, colleagues, and doctors.

1. Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
2. Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC).
3. Minimum of 5 years as a registered Nurse.
4. Floor nurse and Anaesthetic experience.
5. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety.
6. Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices in this highly specialized field.
7. Knowledge of Infection Control & Prevention.
8. Demonstrate an understanding of the surgical procedure by anticipating the needs of the multi-disciplinary team members.
9. Problem-solving, analysis, and judgment.
10. Resilience.
11. Excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills.
12. Professional flexibility in working hours while supporting daily business hours.
