Job summary
A logistics training provider offers a 12-month National Certificate in Freight Handling in Durban. This program focuses on empowering unemployed South African youth through practical experience and theoretical training. Candidates aged 23-35 with a Grade 12 qualification (40% in Maths and English) are encouraged to apply. Education
Triton Academy is a TETA-accredited training provider offering courses in Freight Handling and Professional Driving to both staff and unemployed learners. These courses are designed to develop industry- and job-specific skills, empowering participants with the knowledge and competencies needed to excel in the logistics field. Training is available in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town, and the Academy can also assist customers wherever possible with the same courses. We are currently building a talent pool of motivated and committed individuals for our 12-month National Certificate: Freight Handling. This program is aimed at empowering unemployed South African youth through structured training and hands-on experience in the logistics industry.
- Loading and off-loading goods from vehicles
- Preparing a vehicle for trips
- Receiving, dispatching, and handling freight documentation
- Performing ancillary warehouse and transport-related duties
- Delivery and collection of goods and stock
- General housekeeping and maintaining clean workspaces
- Picking and packing stock accurately
- Receiving incoming stock and verifying against documentation
- Ensuring correct stacking and securing of goods for safe transport
- Structured theoretical training aligned with unit standards
- Workplace practical experience and mentorship
- Assessment preparation for final external verification
- Candidates must be South African citizens
- Grade 12/ TVET- N3/ NQF Level 2 qualification (Achieved 40% in Maths and English)
- Be between the ages of 23 - 35 years
- Must be medically fit
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be numerically orientated
- Must be prepared to work on weekends and shifts
- Clear criminal record
- Candidates must reside in the following areas: Tselinyama, Claremont, Mariann Hill, Chatsworth, Mariann Ridge, Pinetown, Ashley
- Working hours 08:00 – 18:00
- The following will be advantageous: Own reliable transport
