Job description
Maintenance Manager required for a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in managing a maintenance department
- Proven track record of discipline and fault finding
- Ability to diagnose plant and equipment problems and identify opportunities for modification, upgrade, or replacement
- Approve store requisitions for spares and consumables
- Strong project management skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Maintenance Strategy
- Lead and manage the Maintenance Team
- Analyze and interpret Planned Maintenance Reports (e.g., hours per department, per artisan)
- Analyze and interpret Breakdown Reports (e.g., manufacturing downtime, top-10 issues)
- Manage the implementation of engineering projects
- Support project activities to ensure objectives are met
- Contribute to managing project risks within the field of expertise
- Identify, suggest, and implement corrective actions to improve project quality
- Evaluate and enhance the performance of the project team
