Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Purchasing Coordinator for a prestigious winery in the Paarl region of the Western Cape. The role focuses on sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and timely invoicing to support vineyard and production operations.

Required are 3–5 years in purchasing, a related qualification, and strong Excel/ERP skills. The environment offers an opportunity to contribute to wine industry procurement and process improvements while working in a scenic Paarl setting.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and ERP/inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities: placing orders, tracking shipments, verifying deliveries.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for goods and services including agricultural inputs and lab equipment.
• Negotiate prices and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain purchasing records and manage inventory with operational teams.
• Process invoices and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Liaise with internal departments to understand procurement needs and deadlines.
• Prepare reports on purchasing activity, costs, and supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies.
