Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Well Intervention Specialist for our Sandton team. The role focuses on planning, executing, and supervising a range of well intervention activities including workovers, cleanouts, and artificial lift installations to maintain and improve production.

You will collaborate with production engineers and field crews to optimize asset value, ensure safety, and comply with HSE regulations while delivering high-quality results through sound technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in oil and gas well intervention, workovers, or completions.
• Strong knowledge of downhole tools, fishing operations, and artificial lift systems.
• Experience with wellbore integrity assessment and repair techniques.
• Proficiency in planning and executing complex multi-string workovers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design well intervention programs, including workover procedures and remedial treatments.
• Supervise and execute well intervention operations, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Manage the selection and deployment of appropriate equipment, tools, and personnel for intervention jobs.
• Monitor well performance post-intervention and assess the effectiveness of operations.
• Conduct post-job analysis and reporting, identifying lessons learned for future operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
