Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Well Operations Engineer to join the field operations team near Nelspruit. You will plan, design and supervise well intervention, workover, and completion activities, ensuring safety and cost effectiveness in Mpumalanga's oil and gas environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering and at least 6 years of experience in well operations, with strong knowledge of hydraulics, formation evaluation and artificial lift systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 6 years of well operations experience (interventions, workovers, or completions).
• Strong knowledge of wellbore hydraulics, formation evaluation and artificial lift systems.
• Experience in rig site supervision and project management.
• Familiarity with HSE regulations and best practices in oil and gas.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design well intervention, workover, and completion programs.
• Supervise rig site operations, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Manage operational risks including well control and equipment failures.
• Optimize well performance through completion and intervention strategies.
• Coordinate with drilling, production, and HSE teams for integrated operations.
• Prepare detailed operational reports including post-job analysis and cost tracking.
• Ensure all operations comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
