About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Well Intervention Engineer to support their offshore and onshore operations from their hub in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. This role is responsible for planning, designing, and executing well intervention operations, including workovers, P&A (plugging and abandonment), and artificial lift installations, to maintain and enhance production from existing wells. You will work closely with drilling, production, and reservoir teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective intervention strategies are implemented, contributing directly to asset performance in the challenging Oil & Gas environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed well intervention programs, including scope, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Select appropriate equipment and services for workover, completion, and P&A operations.
• Oversee the execution of intervention campaigns, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational plans.
• Troubleshoot operational issues encountered during intervention activities.
• Analyze post-intervention data to evaluate effectiveness and optimize future operations.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards for well integrity and intervention activities in Mossel Bay.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in well intervention, workover, or completions engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong understanding of wellbore mechanics, downhole tools, and well control principles.
• Experience with planning and executing various types of well interventions (e.g., fishing, milling, P&A).
• Proficiency in relevant software for planning and analysis.
