Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Project Engineer to lead water and sanitation infrastructure projects in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will manage planning, design and on-site execution, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across water treatment, distributions, and wastewater systems.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and at least five years of project engineering experience, with CAD and project management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered or eligible with ECSA as Pr. Eng or Candidate Engineer preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project engineering for water and sanitation projects.
• Experience managing projects from planning through construction.
• Familiarity with water treatment, networks, pumping stations, and regulatory codes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Manage timelines, resources, and budgets for cost-effective delivery.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and authorities to progress projects.
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards on site.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction quality; resolve technical issues.
• Prepare progress reports, specs, and as-built drawings.
• Stakeholder liaison for effective communication and management.
• Perform technical reviews per client requirements and standards.
• Assist in procurement of materials and services.
• Support Senior Project Manager with planning and risk assessments.
