The role requires a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Water Resources or Environmental focus, Pr.

Eng. registration, and 7+ years in related projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in design and management of water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and planning of water supply systems, including raw water abstraction, treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
• Develop designs for wastewater collection systems, including sewer networks, rising mains, and wastewater treatment plants.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water and wastewater systems using industry-standard software.
• Prepare detailed design reports, calculations, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders for approvals and alignment.
• Oversee construction supervision activities for water and sanitation projects.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
• Stay updated on technologies, regulations, and best practices in water and wastewater engineering.
• Contribute to proposals and growth of the water and sanitation division in Bloemfontein.
