Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Trainee Manager for the Cape Town area (Southern & Northern Suburbs). You will learn store operations under supervision, handling a wide range of retail duties and reporting to the store manager.

The role requires Grade 12, 1–2 years in retail management, MS Office literacy, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work retail hours. Diploma holders have an advantageous edge.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of retail store management disciplines with retail admin experience.
• Ability to analyse simple to semi-complex situations and make informed decisions.
• Good communication skills with customers and team members.
• Strong emotional intelligence and conflict management abilities.
• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory management, stock control, and shrinkage reduction.
• Support sales floor operations and ensure adherence to pricing, labeling, and stock displays.
• Assist with daily POS operations, cash-ups, and transaction integrity.
• Drive customer service excellence and promptly address complaints or compliments.
• Participate in HR processes, leave management, and staff documentation.
• Engage in the Trainee Programme and complete learning tasks and assessments.
