Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst specializing in Threat Intelligence to join our on-site team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and disseminating threat intel to proactively identify and mitigate cyber threats across a large retail enterprise.

You will monitor sources, develop threat actor profiles, and provide actionable insights to security operations, incident response, and monitoring systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years in cybersecurity, focusing on threat intelligence analysis.
• Knowledge of threat actor motivations and TTPs.
• Experience with TIPs and OSINT gathering techniques.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR.
• Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Python for data analysis.
• Knowledge of geopolitical factors influencing cyber threats.
• Ability to work independently and on-site.

Responsabilités

• Collect and analyze threat intelligence from OSINT, threat feeds, dark web.
• Identify emerging threats, trends, and attack vectors.
• Develop and maintain threat actor profiles and TTPs.
• Generate actionable threat intelligence reports and alerts.
• Support incident response with threat context.
• Integrate threat intelligence into security monitoring and detection systems.
• Develop and maintain threat hunting playbooks.
• Participate in information sharing with external communities.
