Placements24 is partnering with a prominent financial services group in Nelspruit to hire a Threat Intelligence Analyst. The role focuses on proactively identifying, analyzing, and reporting on cyber threats that could impact the organization.

You will translate complex intelligence into actionable insights for defensive teams. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in threat intelligence or related security roles, familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, TIPs, and SIEM, and possess strong analytical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.
• 2+ years of cybersecurity experience focusing on threat intelligence, security operations, or incident response.
• Strong understanding of the global threat landscape, attacker methodologies (MITRE ATT&CK), and malware analysis.
• Experience with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs), SIEM, and other security tools.
• Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable intelligence.
• Familiarity with operating systems and network protocols.
• Experience in the financial services sector is a plus.
• GIAC Certified Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze open-source, dark web, and commercial threat intelligence feeds.
• Identify and track threat actors, campaigns, malware, and vulnerabilities relevant to the organization and industry.
• Produce timely and actionable intelligence reports, briefings, and alerts for stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain intelligence collection plans and methodologies.
• Support incident response activities by providing contextual information on threats.
• Collaborate with security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management teams.
• Contribute to the development and tuning of security controls based on threat intelligence.
• Research emerging trends in cyber threats, attacker techniques, and defensive strategies.
