Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst focused on Threat Intelligence to join a cutting-edge SOC. This fully remote role supports proactive protection of digital assets for clients across South Africa.

You will research, analyze, and disseminate threat intelligence to guide security strategies, track threat actors, and deliver actionable insights to technical and executive teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years in information security with focus on threat intelligence, SOC analysis, or incident response.
• Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify relevant threats.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms, SIEM, and security orchestration tools.
• Strong understanding of adversary TTPs and attack vectors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze threat intelligence data from OSINT, commercial feeds, and dark web.
• Identify and track threat actors, TTPs, and attack patterns.
• Produce actionable threat reports and executive briefings.
• Provide timely alerts on emerging threats relevant to the environment.
• Collaborate with incident response and SOC teams to leverage threat intelligence.
• Contribute to threat hunting methodologies and platform improvements.
• Stay current with evolving cyber threats and geopolitics affecting threat activity.
