Placements24 is seeking a vigilant NOC Engineer to monitor and maintain health and performance of the network in Paarl. The role involves responding to alerts, diagnosing issues, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

You will work in a hybrid setup with remote monitoring capabilities and opportunities for certifications. The position requires 2+ years in a NOC and a IT-related diploma or degree.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center environment.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, SNMP, and routing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance, availability, and security using NOC tools.
• Respond to alerts and incidents with initial diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Escalate unresolved issues to engineering with clear problem descriptions.
• Implement SOPs for network maintenance and fault resolution.
• Document all events, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Telecoms Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to monitor and maintain the health and performance of their network infrastructure in Paarl . This role is critical for ensuring uninterrupted service delivery by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network issues around the clock. You will work closely with various technical teams to troubleshoot complex problems and implement preventative measures. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance, availability, and security using sophisticated NOC monitoring tools .
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, performing initial diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate engineering teams with detailed problem descriptions.
• Implement standard operating procedures for network maintenance and fault resolution.
• Document all network events, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and tools.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience working in a Network Operations Center environment.
• Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, and routing protocols.
• Experience with network monitoring software (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).

• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
