Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to monitor and maintain the health and performance of our telecommunications network from our Port Elizabeth facility. This role involves 24/7 network surveillance, incident detection, and initial response to ensure service continuity for users across the Eastern Cape and beyond.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

About the Role

You will play a key role in safeguarding network integrity and performance for our users across the Eastern Cape and beyond. Join a critical support team dedicated to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic, system performance, and infrastructure health using various monitoring tools.
• Identify, diagnose, and respond to network alerts and incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
• Perform initial troubleshooting and escalation of network issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams.
• Document all network events, incidents, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders during network outages or performance degradations.
• Assist in the implementation of proactive measures to prevent future network incidents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a NOC environment, network operations, or IT support role.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and hardware (routers, switches).
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a 24/7 operation.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
