Job summary

Dixie Recruitment is seeking a proactive Technical Sales Representative to expand our client's footprint across the engineering, mining, and industrial sectors in Gauteng. You will identify new business opportunities and build long-term customer relationships to fuel growth.

You will generate leads, visit customers, present solutions, and develop a robust sales pipeline. You will review drawings, prepare quotations, and negotiate terms within company guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of sales experience in engineering, mining, industrial, manufacturing, or transport.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with tools like Microsoft Office.
• Proven negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
• Must reside in Gauteng and be prepared to travel within that region - working from home based office.
• Technical understanding to review drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new customers across targeted industries.
• Generate and follow up on sales leads, and conduct customer visits and presentations.
• Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of sales opportunities.
• Prepare and execute strategic sales plans to meet growth targets.
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients.
• Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries, understanding their requirements and proposing tailored solutions.
• Manage customer expectations, prepare accurate quotations, and review technical drawings and specifications.
• Follow up on quotations and tenders, negotiate pricing and commercial terms within company guidelines.
• Liaise with production, procurement, and management teams regarding customer orders.
• Monitor project progress, provide customer feedback, and assist in resolving technical and commercial issues during project execution.
• Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities, identifying new product and service opportunities.
• Maintain detailed customer records, sales activities, and prepare weekly reports and forecasts.
