Job summary

Dixie Recruitment is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to lead sales operations across South Africa. You will head a high-performance team selling engineered industrial consumables, fluid sealing systems and bolting products into mining, petrochemical, oil & gas, and general manufacturing sectors.

You will develop regional sales plans, manage distributors, forecast performance and ensure strong customer relationships while driving revenue growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Sales, Business or related field.
• MBA or equivalent qualification advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• Minimum 7 years proven experience leading a technical sales team in manufacturing.
• Experience selling industrial consumables and engineered products.
• Strong business development and key account management experience.
• Experience developing regional sales strategies and plans.
• Experience managing distributors and indirect sales channels.
• Commercial understanding with responsibility for sales budgets and targets.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional sales plans aligned with business objectives.
• Lead, coach and manage a team of Sales Executives and Account Managers.
• Grow revenue, profitability and market share across the assigned territory.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic customer relationships.
• Manage key accounts and support the sales team in new business development and growth.
• Develop customer specific sales plans and monitor performance against targets.
• Build and manage distributor relationships and improve channel performance.
• Coordinate with product management, technical and marketing teams.
• Prepare sales forecasts, budgets and monthly performance reports.
• Monitor market activity, competitor performance and growth opportunities.
• Ensure reporting, sales discipline and pipeline management across region.
• Support recruitment, training and development of the sales team.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, safety, quality and ethics.
