Moving Tactics offers a 12 month paid Technical Assistant internship in Cape Town in partnership with Yes4Youth to get you market ready.

The role provides hands-on IT support, stock and asset management, and day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be unemployed South African citizens aged 18-34 and meet BBBEE criteria.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the Technical Manager with daily IT tasks and support.
• Support on-site technicians and installers.
• Configure SOC screens, LTE routers, media players, and access points.
• Provide IT assistance for printers, network devices and security systems.
• Perform backups, network maintenance, and cabling.
• Deploy and maintain new IT hardware and software.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Stock control and asset management to prepare for installations.

Technical Assistant Internship (Cape Town)

In order to be eligible for the internship, you need to meet the following criteria:

• 18-34 years old
• Candidate is definedin accordance with theBBBEE definition
• South African citizen
• Unemployed
• Has not completed a Yes4Youth program previously.

We are looking for aTechnical Assistantto join our team. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can provide technical support, manage stock and assets, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. If you have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical & IT Support

• Assist the Technical Manager with daily operations and technical tasks.
• Provide support to technicians, installers, and on-site teams.
• Configure and maintain SOC screens, LTE routers, media players, and access points.
• Offer IT support for computers, printers, network devices, and security systems.
• Perform system backups, network maintenance, and general cabling.
• Test and diagnose faulty equipment, ensuring timely resolution.
• Deploy, set up, and maintain new IT hardware and software.
• Ensure all assigned technical tasks are completed efficiently and within deadlines.

Stock & Asset Management

• Support stock control processes and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Conduct accurate monthly stock counts and generate reports.
• Prepare and allocate stock for upcoming installations, deliveries, and replacements.
• Maintain secure, well-organized storerooms with accurate stock records.
• Coordinate the movement of stock, deliveries, and installation consumables.

General Operations & Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient Technical Office and storage areas.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards (OHS & PPE requirements).
• Safeguard insurance-related stock by ensuring proper storage and security measures.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Assist the Technical Manager and General Manager with additional tasks as needed.
• Be available for occasional after-hours and weekend work when required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Strong sense of integrity, accountability, and work ethic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• High level of attention to detail and strong time management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and stock management systems.

Package & Remuneration

Basic Salary – R6,000.00 per month.
