Job summary

Moving Tactics in Johannesburg seeks an Installations Assistant to join our technical team. You will support installers, prep materials, and maintain clean, safe site conditions for digital/electronic equipment installations across retail spaces.

You will also assist with office projects, attend regular meetings, and support the GM. Applicants must have a matric and be aged 18–34 with YES4YOUTH eligibility. Basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a matric qualification.
• Experience installing digital/electronic equipment (AV, PCs, POS).
• Basic computer skills.
• Ages 18–34; YES4YOUTH programme participation not allowed.
• Technical subject qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the installer during installations and prep work.
• Ensure work sites are clean and safe, maintained throughout installations.
• Assist with ad hoc projects around the office as required.
• Support the General Manager with tasks as needed.
• Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings with the installer to discuss requirements.

To help us keep up with this incredible momentum, we are looking for a practical, energetic, and hardworking Installations Assistant to join our technical crew.

• Daily, weekly and monthly meetings to discuss the job and requirements with the relevant installer
• Ensure stock is prepared and ready for installations
• Assist the installer with any tasks necessary to complete the job

Installations:

• Assist the installer during the installation process
• Assist with preparation prior to installations
• Ensure work sites are clean, safe from hazards, and maintained throughout the installation
• Assist with ad hoc projects around the office as required
• Support the G.M with tasks as needed

Key Performance Indicators:

• Understand what you are doing and the system(s) you are installing; you will be tested periodically on your knowledge of the systems you assist with, including their setup and configuration
• Ensure sites are always clean and tidy on job completion
• Ensure the installer has all stock required for upcoming installations
• Conform to MT stock procedures when dealing with stock

General:

• Always be professional
• Communicate clearly with clients and co-workers
• Make sure you are always presentable and professional when representing Moving Tactics
• Always follow company processes, procedures and values
• Comply with all health & safety procedures
• Make sure that you always have and use the required PPE and work safely
• With reasonable notice, be available for after hours and weekend installations when necessary
• Ensure you are punctual at all times
• Minimum of a matric qualification
• Qualification in technical subject (TD, Woodwork, CS etc) is advantageous
• Experience in installing digital/electronic equipment (AV, PC’s , POS etc.)
• Basic computer skills
• Applicants must not have participated in a YES4YOUTH programme before and must be between the ages of 18 to 34
