Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company is seeking a Business Development Manager for Surgery in South Africa and SSA. The role focuses on accelerating growth by developing markets, leading distributor and agency teams, and building trusted relationships with healthcare stakeholders.

You will work with Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory and Supply Chain teams to drive commercial strategy, demand planning, and market development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in medical devices or healthcare in South Africa and SSA.
• Proven ability to lead through influence within complex matrix organizations.
• Strong networking and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish and strengthen partnerships with key decision-makers across the healthcare ecosystem.
• Own demand planning, inventory forecasting, budgeting, and financial forecasts.
• Develop relationships with government entities and healthcare leaders to influence policy and funding.
• Identify new growth opportunities within the Surgery portfolio and pursue them.
• Lead distributor performance and channel optimization.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to support objectives.
• Monitor market trends, competition and customer needs to guide decisions.
• Ensure compliance with BD policies, quality standards and ethics.
