About the Role

Our client is seeking an passionate and experienced Surf School Director to lead their renowned surf school situated in the picturesque coastal town of Mossel Bay. This role requires a leader with exceptional surfing expertise, a strong understanding of surf instruction pedagogy, and proven management capabilities to ensure the highest quality of service and safety for students. You will be responsible for curriculum development, instructor management, operations, and driving business growth in a competitive Western Cape tourism and Leisure & Sports market. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of surf school operations, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and beach safety protocols.
• Develop and refine surf lesson curriculum for various skill levels, from beginners to advanced surfers.
• Recruit, train, certify, and manage a team of qualified surf instructors, ensuring high standards of instruction and safety.
• Manage the surf school budget, including revenue forecasting, expense management, and inventory control.
• Promote the surf school through marketing initiatives, partnerships with local tourism operators, and excellent customer service.
• Ensure compliance with all local regulations and safety standards related to surf instruction and beach activities.
• Foster a fun, safe, and educational environment for all participants.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in surf instruction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
