Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a certified sailing instructor (e.g., RYA, US Sailing, or equivalent).
• Proven ability to manage a sailing school or similar water sports operation.
• Strong knowledge of sailing techniques, navigation, safety procedures, and fleet management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification, and ability to obtain other relevant safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a comprehensive sailing curriculum for various skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
• Train, mentor, and manage a team of sailing instructors and support staff, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality instruction.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inventory management of the sailing fleet (dinghies, keelboats, etc.).
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and protocols for sailing activities and operations.
• Manage the scheduling of courses, private lessons, and club events, and assist with membership engagement.

Our client seeks a seasoned and enthusiastic Head Sailing Instructor & Operations Lead to manage their popular sailing school and associated water activities in Port Elizabeth . This role is perfect for a passionate sailor with strong instructional and leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for curriculum development, delivering exceptional sailing instruction to a diverse range of students, managing fleet maintenance, and ensuring the highest safety standards are met.
