About the Role

A premier surf school situated on the beautiful coastline of East London is seeking an experienced and passionate Surf School Manager to lead its operations. This dynamic role involves managing all aspects of the surf school, from coordinating lessons and managing instructors to ensuring client satisfaction and promoting a safe, fun, and professional surfing environment. You will be responsible for upholding the school's reputation for excellent instruction and memorable beach experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong background in surfing, teaching, and operations management, with a dedication to fostering a love for the ocean and developing surfing talent within the Eastern Cape community, ensuring a fantastic experience for all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the surf school, including scheduling lessons, managing staff, and ensuring smooth client flow.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of qualified surf instructors, ensuring adherence to safety and teaching standards.
• Develop and implement effective surf lesson programs for various skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
• Manage surf equipment inventory, maintenance, and storage, ensuring all gear is safe and functional.
• Handle customer inquiries, bookings, and feedback, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
• Promote the surf school through marketing initiatives, community engagement, and partnerships.

Requirements

• Extensive surfing experience and a deep understanding of ocean conditions and safety.
• Current surf instructor certification from a recognized national or international body (e.g., ISA).
• Proven experience in managing a team, preferably within the surf or watersports industry.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of beach safety, first aid, and emergency procedures.
